Soroptimist Live Your Dream: Education and Training Awards for Women
This program provides people who identify as women with cash grants to offset costs associated with their efforts to attain higher education and additional skills training. The ultimate goal of the program is to help women improve their economic status by preparing them to enter or re-enter the workplace – to help women reclaim their dreams of a better life for themselves and their family.
Unlike other award programs, the Live Your Dream: Education and Training Awards for Women (formerly the Women’s Opportunity Award) can be used for books, child care, transportation or other expenses that will help a woman reach her educational goal.
Program Structure
The program begins at the club level. Soroptimist International of Calgary award recipients are eligible for a single $3,000 or one of two $1,500 awards. Club-level recipients become eligible for additional awards at other levels of the organization. In addition, Soroptimist grants three $10,000 finalist awards each year through the Live Your Dream: Education and Training Awards for Women program.
